Puppy Diaries | Conflict Resolution Fundamentals

In this Video, we explore Conflict Resolution - the principle of disagreeing with behaviours you don’t want, and resolving those disagreements effectively.

When it comes to disagreement, we should always be following the process of Correction, Direction, Outcome, where Outcome is “Distance, Calmness, Respectfulness” as a Framework for the behaviours we want. By being consistent in the way that we follow through to the behaviours we want, our puppies learn how to receive disagreement and respond to it in a healthy way.

In this video with puppy Théo, I am using food to create motivation and excitement, then practicing disagreement with simple sound. Understanding the application of these skills is where you will truly get the added value when training a puppy.
