Puppy Diaries | Good Habits for Toys and Chews

How many toys and chews does your dog need? One? Five? One hundred? In this video we discuss healthy habits for sharing objects, and the most useful toys and chews to have around with a young puppy.

When I’m raising a puppy, I generally have a very limited number of toys and chews. My list is:

  • A rope tug toy.

  • A soft cuddly toy.

  • A Ball.

  • An Antler

  • A Yak Chew

  • A carrot (well, lots of carrots).

I want to maximise the opportunities to practice healthy bonding and sharing behaviours with objects, teaching beneficial skills like retrieving, and soothing his pain or discomfort when their gums hurt.
